Valociek Captures 2025 Arizona Amateur Championship
Kobe Valociek, a 22-year-old from Peoria, Arizona, and a recent graduate of Kansas State University, secured the 2025 Arizona Amateur Championship at Seville Golf and Country Club. Valociek, who also recently competed in the U.S. Amateur, claimed the title with late birdies on the 17th and 18th holes to defeat Tucson’s Jorge Parada in the championship match.
The final was closely contested, with the match tied through 16 holes before Valociek broke through with precision on the island green par 3 at No. 17. He closed the victory with another birdie on the finishing hole to earn the championship.
Valociek played steady golf throughout the week, never posting a score higher than 67. The championship required six match play wins after the initial 36 holes of stroke play trimmed the field of 144 down to 64.
Across the tournament, Seville Golf and Country Club yielded 63 eagles, 1,624 birdies, and 1,047 bogeys or worse. Twenty eight of the 63 matches reached the 18th hole, with nine going to extra holes. The longest match was a 21 hole duel between Landon Ashcraft and Jack Kozlowski. The lowest round of the week belonged to Jack Dozer, who shot 62 during stroke play.
Valociek’s victory adds to a strong summer that included his appearance at the U.S. Amateur and further establishes him as one of Arizona’s rising amateurs.
