Meja Örtengren Captures Maiden Ladies European Tour Title at Hills Open

Swedish amateur Meja Örtengren secured her first Ladies European Tour victory at the Hills Open near Gothenburg, finishing two strokes clear at six under par. The 20 year old Stanford University sophomore is the latest amateur to claim a LET title, joining names such as Lottie Woad and Jana Melichova.

Örtengren, who has represented Sweden in major international team competitions and earned recognition as one of Europe’s top young talents, held the lead for much of the final round. Despite a double bogey on the 17th hole, she rebounded with a birdie at the last to secure the championship.

Her victory adds to an already impressive amateur résumé. At Stanford, Örtengren has contributed to one of the strongest programs in collegiate golf and continues to build momentum heading into the fall season.
