U.S. Amateur Round of 32 Preview

The 2025 U.S. Amateur Championship at The Olympic Club advances to the Round of 32 on Thursday, with matches starting at 8 a.m. PT followed by the Round of 16 in the afternoon.

John Daly II, fresh off his Southern Amateur win, earned a 1-up victory over Cooper Claycomb by birdieing the par-4 11th and halving every other hole. Niall Shiels Donegan, a longtime Bay Area resident, birdied the last two holes to defeat Luke Poulter 1-up and will face Christian Maas.

World No.1 Jackson Koivun advanced with a 2&1 win over Ryan Voois, while AJGA No.1 Miles Russell beat Travis Woolf 4&2. World No.2 Ben James topped Parker Claxton 2&1, and WAGR No.4 Preston Stout birdied five of his last six holes to defeat Pennson Badgett 4&3. Tyler Weaver, the only English player remaining, defeated Connor Graham 2&1.
