Southern Miss Commit Jake Moffitt Runs Away with Mississippi State Amateur Title at Grand Bear

Jake Moffitt, a Southern Mississippi commit, dominated the 2025 Mississippi State Amateur Championship at Grand Bear Golf Club in Saucier, Mississippi, winning by 10 shots in one of the most commanding performances in the event’s history.

Moffitt posted rounds of 67, 69, 66, and 71 to finish at 15-under-par (273), comfortably ahead of runner-up Thomas Grady, who finished at 5-over. No other player in the field broke par over four rounds, underscoring Moffitt’s complete control from start to finish.

With the victory, Moffitt secures a spot in the upcoming U.S. Amateur Championship, where he’ll represent Mississippi and Southern Miss on the national stage.
