Pilar Echeverria and Maria Fassi Named to WGCA Players Hall of Fame
The Women’s Golf Coaches Association announced that Pilar Echeverria of the University of Indianapolis and Maria Fassi of the University of Arkansas will be inducted into the WGCA Players Hall of Fame on December 8, 2025, at Planet Hollywood Resort in Las Vegas. The event will include a reception sponsored by Babygrande Golf followed by dinner and the induction ceremony.
Echeverria concluded a record-setting career at Indianapolis, earning two PING WGCA Player of the Year awards, five WGCA First-Team All-America honors, and four Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Year titles. She holds school records with 18 career wins, including three straight NCAA Regional titles, and the lowest career (73.09) and single-season (71.56) scoring averages. Echeverria helped lead the Greyhounds to four GLVC Championships, three NCAA Regional Championships, and the 2023 NCAA title.
Fassi graduated as one of Arkansas’ all-time greats, setting program records for career scoring average (72.03) and single-season scoring average (70.50). Her 11 victories include two SEC Championships, an NCAA Regional title, and the 2019 NCAA individual crown. A PING WGCA Player of the Year, three-time WGCA All-American, and two-time SEC Player of the Year, she was also named 2019 SEC Female Athlete of the Year. Fassi has represented Mexico at the 2020 Tokyo and 2024 Paris Olympics and earned eight LPGA Tour top-10 finishes.
