Florida State Commit Miles Russell Named AJGA Boys Player of the Year for Second Time

Miles Russell has been named the American Junior Golf Association Boys Player of the Year for 2025, earning the honor for the second time in three years. The announcement was made alongside the release of the Rolex Junior All American teams on November 5.

Russell, a Florida State commit for 2027, first won the award in 2023 when he became the youngest recipient in AJGA history. He is now the first two time winner from Florida’s First Coast, joining past area honorees David Duval and Kaitlyn Schroeder.

The 16 year old compiled an outstanding 2024–25 season, winning four AJGA titles and recording six top ten finishes with a scoring average of 69.05. His victories included:

  • Junior Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass, where he became the first two time champion in tournament history

  • Rolex Tournament of Champions, which he won by six shots

  • Sage Valley Invitational, where he added another national title

Russell also reached the quarterfinals of both the U.S. Amateur and U.S. Junior Amateur this summer, proving his ability to compete at the highest amateur level. He represented the United States on the Junior Ryder Cup team and will attend a Walker Cup practice session in December in Jupiter and West Palm Beach, Florida.

Russell continues to solidify his reputation as one of the nation’s top young golfers, with six AJGA titles and an impressive record of success before his 17th birthday.
