PAULA MARTÍN SAMPEDRO Wins 2025 R&A Women’s Amateur at Nairn
Spain's Paula Martín Sampedro, a sophomore at Stanford University, claimed the 2025 R&A Women’s Amateur Championship with a 2-up victory over University of Texas standout Farah O’Keefe in Sunday’s 36-hole final at Nairn Golf Club.
Martín Sampedro played clean, consistent golf through the opening 18, staying bogey-free while building early momentum. She gained control of the match by the 27th hole and maintained composure down the stretch. O’Keefe made a late run with an eagle on the 33rd hole, cutting the deficit to one, but Martin Sampedro responded with a birdie at the 35th to secure the win.
This victory makes her the sixth Spanish player to win the Women’s Amateur Championship and the first since 2009. Along with the title, she earns exemptions into multiple major championships, including the AIG Women’s Open, Chevron Championship, U.S. Women’s Open, Amundi Evian Championship, and Augusta National Women’s Amateur.
