Isabella Johnson Wins Tennessee Women’s Amateur at Chattanooga G&CC

Isabella Johnson of Middle Tennessee State University earned the biggest win of her career this week, capturing the 93rd Tennessee Women’s Amateur Championship at Chattanooga Golf and Country Club. The Murfreesboro native posted rounds of 70, 73, and 70 to finish at even-par 213, two shots ahead of the field.

Johnson, a former Riverdale High School standout and University of Memphis transfer, held steady throughout the final round. After opening with a bogey, she responded with three birdies over her next five holes to regain control. She played the back nine at even par to close out the victory.

Katie Woodruff of Ooltewah surged into solo second with a final-round 67, the lowest round of the championship, finishing at two over par. Lexanne Halama (Illinois) and Sophie Linder (Ole Miss) tied for third at 216. Karlie Campbell (Kentucky) placed fifth at 219.

With the win, Johnson earned an exemption into the 125th U.S. Women’s Amateur, set for August 4–110 at Bandon Dunes.
