Howell Takes Lead After Two Rounds at U.S. Junior Amateur

Howell Medals at U.S. Junior Amateur, Match Play Bracket Set

Mason Howell of the United States posted his second straight round in the 60s to earn medalist honors at the 2025 U.S. Junior Amateur Championship. The University of Georgia commit carded a 4-under 67 Tuesday at Trinity Forest Golf Club, finishing stroke play at 7 under overall.

England’s Ben Bolton is one shot back at 6 under after following a 67 with a 68 at Brook Hollow Golf Club. Tyler Watts (USA, Tennessee commit), Sage Bradshaw (USA, College of Charleston commit), and Stuart Boulware (USA) are tied for third at 5 under.

Ayden Fynaut (USA, Fresno State commit) fired the round of the day with a 6-under 64 at Brook Hollow to grab solo sixth at 4 under.

Qiyou Wu (China, Notre Dame commit), who co-led after round one, dropped to 3 under after a second-round 72. Miles Russell (USA, Florida State commit), Ronin Banerjee (USA), and Liangliang Gu (China) round out the top 10 at 2 under.

The top 64 players advanced to match play, which begins Wednesday at Trinity Forest.
