Fang and Stout Selected to 2025 U.S. Walker Cup Team

Oklahoma State standouts Ethan Fang and Preston Stout have been named to the 2025 United States Walker Cup Team. The official announcement came Thursday from the USGA ahead of this year’s match set for September 6–7 at Cypress Point Club in California.

Fang, from Plano, Texas, won the 2025 Amateur Championship at Royal St George’s, becoming the first American in nearly two decades to claim that title. He also helped lead Oklahoma State to a national championship and reached the quarterfinals of the 2024 U.S. Amateur.

Stout, a Dallas native, dominated this summer with wins at the Big 12 Championship and Northeast Amateur. He also played a key role in Oklahoma State’s NCAA team title, securing match-play wins over top players like Michael La Sasso and Jase Summy.

The two Cowboys join Ben James, Michael La Sasso, and Jackson Koivun, who previously secured spots based on their World Amateur Golf Ranking status. The full ten-man roster will be finalized by the USGA in the coming weeks.

This year’s team will face Great Britain and Ireland in one of amateur golf’s most prestigious team competitions.
