Lauryn Nguyen Named Big Ten Women’s Golfer of the Week
CGN Feature: Lauryn Nguyen Named Big Ten Women’s Golfer of the Week
Northwestern senior Lauryn Nguyen has been named the Big Ten Women’s Golfer of the Week for her performance at the Chevron Silverado Showdown, held April 3–9 in Napa, California.
Nguyen, a finance major from New Albany, Ohio, fired rounds of 70-68-69 to finish at 9-under 207 — tying her season-best and winning by four strokes in a field that featured 15 top-100 players. She was the only competitor to post three consecutive under-par rounds and helped lead Northwestern to its third consecutive team title at Silverado. Her week followed an appearance at the 2025 Augusta National Women’s Amateur.
The recognition comes as the Wildcats prepare for the Big Ten Women’s Golf Championships, scheduled for April 18–20 at Bulle Rock Golf Club in Havre de Grace, Maryland. The Big Ten currently has six teams ranked inside the top 30 nationally, including No. 3 Oregon, No. 7 USC, and No. 10 Northwestern.
