Ella Cheek: A Standout at Dallas Baptist University

Ella Cheek, a sophomore at Dallas Baptist and former standout at Sachse High School (TX), is currently ranked No. 16 in Division II women’s golf, per Clippd.

She had a decorated high school career — winning a regional title in 2023, earning District Player of the Year three times, and capturing two district championships.

Cheek made an immediate impact at DBU. As a freshman, she was named a Second Team All-American, All-West Region, and LSC Freshman of the Year, while also earning Second Team All-LSC honors. She picked up her first collegiate win at the Lynn Invite, highlighted by a 66 in the second round.

She helped lead DBU to the NCAA Medal Match Play round and won her quarterfinal match against Henderson State. Off the course, she’s been named to both the Fall and Spring LSC Commissioner’s Honor Rolls.

Now with her sophomore season nearing its end, Cheek looks to keep the momentum going and close it out on a high note!
