David Ford: A Standout at the University of North Carolina
David Ford, a senior from Peachtree Corners, Georgia, and a graduate of Rivers Academy in Alpharetta, has established himself as one of the premier collegiate golfers in the country. He is currently ranked the No. 1 Division I men’s golfer according to Clippd.
Ford’s career at UNC has been nothing short of remarkable. Most recently, he captured the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational title and has competed in three NCAA Championship appearances. He also holds the lowest career scoring average in UNC men’s golf history at 70.44.
Pre-College Career: Before arriving at Chapel Hill, Ford had an impressive junior and amateur resume:
Finished in the top 10 in all seven of his AJGA events
Winner of the AJGA Wyndham Invitational at Sedgefield (Greensboro, NC)
Champion of the AJGA Junior PLAYERS Championship at TPC Sawgrass
The only male player to win all four of his matches at the AJGA Wyndham Cup, which features the top 40 junior players in the country in an East vs. West format
Winner of the 2022 Southern Amateur
Ranked No. 1 in both the Rolex AJGA and Golfweek junior rankings entering college
