58th Pacific Coast Amateur Heads to Eugene Country Club
Eugene Country Club will welcome an international field of amateur golfers for the 58th Pacific Coast Amateur Championship from July 22 to 25, 2025. This year marks the ninth time the Eugene layout has hosted the championship, with previous editions held in 1974, 1982, 1986, 1990, 1998, 2004, 2010, and 2015. The championship is part of the Elite Amateur Golf Series and is operated by the Pacific Coast Golf Association.
The event will be contested over 72 holes of stroke play and features players from 15 member golf associations, as well as invited competitors from eight countries and Puerto Rico. The field includes rising college players, top-ranked amateurs, and national team members. In addition to Elite Amateur Cup points, the winner earns exemptions into USGA and PGA Tour-sanctioned events.

Mahanth Chirravuri (Pepperdine University)
Ranked No. 36 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking. He won the 2025 West Coast Conference individual title and placed third at the 78th Western Intercollegiate.
Greyson Leach (University of Oregon)
Ranked No. 83 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking. He finished second at the 2025 Big Ten Championship and was a unanimous All-Big Ten First Team selection.
Johnny Walker (University of Arizona)
Ranked No. 207 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking. He placed third at the 2025 National Invitational Tournament and ninth at the Arizona Thunderbirds Intercollegiate.
William Walsh (Pepperdine University)
Ranked No. 156 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking. He finished ninth at the 2025 North and South Amateur.
Sam Renner (Washington State University)
Ranked No. 281 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking. He won the 2025 Pacific Northwest Men’s Amateur and had three wins in 2024, including the PNGA Amateur, Badger Invitational, and Oregon State Invitational.
Cole Rueck (Boise State University)
Ranked No. 269 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking. He won the 2025 Idaho State Amateur and finished third at the Oregon Amateur Championship.
Jay Leng (Stanford University)
Ranked No. 128 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking. He has multiple AJGA victories and finished third at the 2024 U.S. Junior Amateur.
University of Oregon teammates Greyson Leach, Eric Doyle, and James Gould-Healy are also in the field.
Event History and Prestige
The Pacific Coast Amateur Championship was first played in 1901 and resumed in 1967 after a long hiatus. The tournament is one of seven events in the Elite Amateur Golf Series and routinely features players who go on to compete at the highest levels. Past champions include Doug Ghim, Isaiah Salinda, Quade Cummins, Devon Bling, James Leow, Tyson Shelley, and Chaz Aurilia. PGA Tour winners such as Aaron Wise, Will Zalatoris, Andrew Putnam, and Billy Mayfair are also former champions.
Eugene Country Club was established in 1899 and redesigned in the 1960s by Robert Trent Jones. It has hosted multiple USGA qualifiers and collegiate events. The course will play as a par 71 and measure just over 7,000 yards..
