Welcome to this week’s edition of our tournament winners' recap! Here’s a look at the top performances from Week #1 in March:
MountainView Collegiate
Division: D1 Women’s Golf
Winner: Kansas State hosted and took home the MountainView Collegiate title at The Preserve at SaddleBrooke in Tucson, AZ. Led by individual champion Carla Bernat, the team turned in a final-round score of 5-under-par 283 on Tuesday to run away with the team title at the par-72 course.
CIAA Southern Division Tournament
Division: D2 Men’s Golf
Winner: Fayetteville State won the Holly Ridge Golf Links event in Archdale, NC. Allan Terrazas, who shot a 73, led the team.
Diffee Ford Lincoln Invitational
Division: D2 Women’s Golf
Winner: Southwestern Oklahoma State claimed victory at KickingBird Golf Course in Edmond, Oklahoma. The Lady Bulldogs beat the field by six strokes—a field that included six other Great American Conference opponents.
Huntsville.org Intercollegiate
Division: D1 Women’s Golf
Winner: Troy won at the Huntsville.org Intercollegiate in Cross Roads, AL, where three Trojans finished in the top 10 individually despite 40 mph winds.
Bearcat Classic
Division: D2 Men’s Golf
Winner: Wingate claimed the top prize at the Bearcat Classic at The Patriot Golf Course in South Carolina, posting a 17-under-par 847. Graduate student Jordan Hyland fired a program-record-tying score of 11-under-par 205 to take home medalist honors.
Southern Highlands Collegiate
Division: D1 Men’s Golf
Winner: Auburn secured the victory at the Southern Highlands Golf Course in Las Vegas, NV. The Tigers finished the week at 9-under 855 to take top honors, with four of the five starters earning top-15 finishes.
Colleton River Collegiate
Division: D1 Men’s Golf
Winner: Michigan State hosted and claimed the top prize at the Colleton River Golf Club in Bluffton, South Carolina. After the first two rounds, the team shot a 2-under-par 574 and secured the top prize among 16 teams.
Juli Inkster at Meadow Club Invitational
Division: D1 Women’s Golf
Winner: Stanford won first place at the Meadow Club Invitational in Fairfax, CA. The Cardinal remain unbeaten, with five tournament wins and four match-play victories. At 29 under, Stanford set the Juli Inkster Invitational tournament record.
Lady Bison Invitational
Division: D1 Women’s Golf
Winner: Queens-Charlotte won the top prize at Hawkstone Country Club in Gainesville, FL, marking their first event victory in the DI era. The Royals finished +28 to top the Lady Bison Invitational. The team also set a new single-round record, carding a 289 in the final round.
Cabo Collegiate
Division: D1 Men’s Golf
Winner: Arizona State secured the first-place title at the Twin Dolphin Golf Club in Cabo. The Sun Devil men's golf team led the tournament all three days and clinched the win at the Cabo Collegiate for the second year in a row. They finished at 15-under 838, led by sophomore Fifa Laopakdee, who tied for first after an impressive 3-under performance, highlighted by four birdies.
