According to the article, Van Wyk has already made history on the golf course. He was the first amateur to win an Advocates Professional Golf Association (APGA) Tour event since its establishment in 2010. He also became the first Black golfer to win honors at the tournament and was named CAA Golfer of the Year in 2022 and 2023.
Van Wyk, a South African native, is the first golfer to earn a P-1 Visa, which recognizes international athletes for their exceptional abilities. According to the article, he can still compete and benefit from endorsements while maintaining his college golf career.
Up next for Van Wyk, he will make his PGA Tour debut on Thursday at the Puerto Rico Open, where he will debut his Under Armour shoe. According to the article, this signature shoe features a waterproof design made with the brand’s HOVR cushioning technology. Both spiked and spikeless versions are available on the Under Armour website.

“Kieron is a fierce competitor with the talent and mindset to make an impact at the next level. He’s fearless, driven, and built for the big stage—exactly the kind of athlete who represents Under Armour’s mission to push the game forward and redefine greatness,” Under Armour senior vice president of global sports marketing Sean Eggert told FN. “We’re excited to have him on our roster and can’t wait to see him take his game to new heights in our gear.”
