Swedick Wins 3rd Annual Women’s Open of Virginia at Farmington

Kennedy Swedick, an incoming sophomore at the University of Virginia, captured the 3rd Annual Women’s Open of Virginia title with a composed and consistent performance at Farmington Country Club. The Albany, New York native fired rounds of 68, 74, and 71 to finish at 3-over-par 213, securing a four-shot victory in one of the strongest fields in the championship’s history.

That group included Lauren Clark of Orlando, Florida, a recent graduate of the University of Kansas, who earned Low Professional honors in her professional debut. Morgan Mussatt of Richmond, Virginia, an incoming junior at Randolph-Macon College; and Addie Doroh of Charlottesville, Virginia, an incoming freshman at the University of Richmond. Each finished at 7-over 217.

Veteran amateur Lauren Greenlief of Oakton, Virginia, PGA professional Jillian Drinkard of Charlottesville, and Skylar Sload of Keswick, Virginia, a recent graduate student at Wake Forest University, tied for fifth at 220. University of Virginia rising sophomore Elsie MacCleery of Crozet and Kathryn Ha of Roanoke, who recently completed her freshman year at Vanderbilt, tied for eighth at 221. Rounding out the top 10 was Georgetown University’s Catherine Qiu of Great Falls, Virginia, who finished at 222.
