Stout Surge: Preston Stout Triumphs at Northeast Amateur

Preston Stout of Oklahoma State dominated the 63rd Northeast Amateur at Wannamoisett Country Club in Rumford, Rhode Island, finishing eight shots clear with a final score of 267 at nine under par. His final round 65 secured a convincing start-to-finish victory.

Stout opened with a 69 on Thursday and followed with a course record tying 61 on Friday at the Donald Ross layout, vaulting to nine under and taking control of the leaderboard. His second round included seven birdies, an eagle, and a confident display of putting.

In the final round, Stout built early momentum with birdies on holes 3, 6, and 9. He added birdies on 13, 15, and 17 while keeping the card clean, closing with a 65 to seal the title by eight strokes.

A sophomore from Richardson, Texas, Stout enters the summer with strong form. He won consecutive Big 12 titles, contributed to Oklahoma State's national championship, recorded six top ten finishes in seven spring starts, and posted top results at Augusta and the Amer Ari Invitational.
