Simpson Sets the Pace with 64 at Transmississippi Amateur

Lance Simpson of the United States and the University of Tennessee fired a bogey-free seven under 64 to take the solo lead after round one of the 2025 Transmississippi Amateur at The Pfau Course in Bloomington, Indiana.

Simpson carded seven birdies in a clean opening round and holds a one-shot lead. JP Odland of the United States and Santa Clara University is in second after a six-under 65. Connor Doyal of the United States matched that number with a 65 of his own to join Odland in a tie for second.

Three players sit one shot further back at five under. Isaiah Ibit of Canada and Kent State Unviersity, Daniel Zou of the United States, and Zhengda Li of China all posted rounds of 66.

Four players round out the top 10 at four under par: Dain Richie of the United States and Mississippi State, Ben Gregg of the United States, and Hudson Weibel and Bradley Chill Jr, both of the United States.
