Samantha Whateley Wins North Carolina Women’s Amateur Title

Samantha Whateley delivered a dominant performance at Cutter Creek Golf Club in Snow Hill, North Carolina, to win the 76th North Carolina Women’s Amateur Championship. Held June 10 through 12, the 54-hole stroke play event brought together the state’s top women amateurs for three rounds of championship golf.

Whateley fired a final round 66 that included seven birdies and no bogeys, marking the lowest score of the tournament. Her strong finish helped her secure the title and earn an exemption into the 2025 U.S. Women’s Amateur, which will be held later this summer at Bandon Dunes.

Representing Mississippi State, Whateley becomes the second player from the Bulldogs’ program to qualify for this year’s national amateur championship. Her win continues a strong season for the program and highlights the caliber of talent developing in Starkville.

The North Carolina Women’s Amateur Championship is conducted annually by the Carolinas Golf Association and remains one of the premier regional events on the summer schedule for elite women amateurs.
