Round one of the 99th Texas Junior Amateur presented by Edwin Watts wrapped up Monday at Horseshoe Bay Resort, with players across all divisions battling for early positioning. With championship exemptions and state titles on the line, the opening round featured standout performances from rising junior talent across Texas.
Boys Division (Ages 15–18)
Lucas Latimer of Rockwall and Declan Dent of Grapevine are tied for the lead at 3 under after opening with rounds of 68 on the Ram Rock course. A trio of players sits one shot back at 2 under, including Bennett Kuhns of Austin, William Mangione of Austin, and Preston Chabaud of Katy.
