Record 292 Programs Earn 2024–25 GCAA Platform Golf Team Academic Awards
A record 292 collegiate golf programs have received the 2024- 25 Platform Golf Team Academic Award, the most in the award’s history. Presented by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) in partnership with PLATFORM Golf, the award honors teams from every division that achieved outstanding academic performance during the past academic year.
This year’s Academic National Champions are:
NCAA Division I: Harvard University
NCAA Division II: University of Findlay
NCAA Division III: Bowdoin College
NAIA: SCAD Savannah
NJCAA Division I: Iowa Western Community College
NJCAA Division II: Southwestern Community College (IA)
HBCU: Alabama State University
Teams must hold a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 to qualify. A GCAA record 292 schools across six divisions earned a PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Award.
A total of 129 schools received Presidents Special Recognition for an average team GPA of 3.5 or higher.
Founded in 1958, the GCAA is the professional association for men’s collegiate golf coaches, representing six divisions across the NCAA, NAIA, and NJCAA. The association provides educational resources, promotes its members, and supports their development as coaches, instructors, and mentors. It also recognizes achievements in academics, athletics, and community engagement by coaches and student athletes.
