Preview: The 2025 Dogwood Invitational Set to Showcase Elite Collegiate and Amateur Talent

The 2025 Dogwood Invitational tees off June 4–7 at Druid Hills Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia, bringing together one of the deepest amateur fields of the summer golf season. With a legacy dating back to 1941, the tournament has long served as a proving ground for the game’s rising stars, many of whom have gone on to PGA Tour success.

This year’s field includes an impressive list of standout college and amateur players, several of whom recently qualified for the 2025 U.S. Open at Oakmont. Among the notable names in the field are:

  • Cameron Tankersley – A rising talent at Ole Miss, fresh off U.S. Open qualifying in Texas.

  • Lance Simpson – Tennessee standout and U.S. Open qualifier.

  • James Hahn – Longtime pro and Georgia alum, returning to his amateur roots for this summer run.

  • Adam Schenk – Another PGA Tour regular teeing it up alongside top amateurs.

  • Johnny Keefer, Carlos Ortiz, James Nicholas, Chris Gotterup, and Roberto Diaz – All recent qualifiers for the U.S. Open through various final stages. Their inclusion adds a unique depth of experience to the Dogwood field.

The Dogwood Invitational is played over 72 holes of stroke play, with Druid Hills Golf Club offering a championship-level test known for its tight fairways, challenging greens, and classic design. The event is not only a competitive showcase but also serves a charitable mission — raising funds for junior golf and local youth programs.

Past champions include major winners like Webb Simpson and Brooks Koepka, while more recent contenders such as J.M. Butler, David Ford, and Luke Clanton have leveraged the event as a national launching pad.

As the summer amateur circuit heats up, the Dogwood remains one of its premier stops, blending history, talent, and opportunity at one of Georgia’s most storied clubs.
