Northwestern Women’s Golf Sweeps National Coaching Honors

Northwestern women’s golf capped off a historic season with a rare sweep of the WGCA’s top coaching awards. Head coach Emily Fletcher was named the 2024–25 Division I Jackie Steinmann National Coach of the Year, while longtime assistant Beth Miller earned Golf Pride Assistant Coach of the Year honors, making Northwestern the first program to win both in the same season.

The dual recognition comes on the heels of the Wildcats’ first NCAA team championship, where they knocked off three top-6 programs, including No. 1 Stanford, in match play. Throughout the season, Northwestern posted seven top-three finishes and never placed worse than eighth.

Fletcher, who also collected her third career Central Region Coach of the Year honor, has led the program for 17 seasons. For Miller, this marks her second time receiving the national assistant award, having first won in 2015.

The Wildcats’ consistent excellence and postseason breakthrough have officially vaulted the program into elite territory, with coaching at the center of its success.
