Nicole Gal Surges Ahead After Round Two at Women’s Porter Cup
Nicole Gal of Ole Miss fired an opening round 66 and followed it up with a 71 on Thursday to take the solo lead at the 2025 Women’s Porter Cup. The Ole Miss standout sits at three under through 36 holes at Niagara Falls Country Club in Lewiston, New York.
Gal, who posted four birdies in her bogey-free first round, played a steadier but more conservative second round to maintain her spot atop the leaderboard.
Two shots behind is fellow Canadian Kelly Zhao of Elon University, who carded a 68 in round two to move to one under overall. Oklahoma State’s Lucy Darr sits in solo third at one over following rounds of 71 and 70.
Abbey Schutte of Arkansas and Bella Dovhey, a Miami commit, are tied for fourth at two over. Both players opened with matching rounds of 68 before slipping slightly with 74s on Thursday.
