Macie Elzinga Wins Michigan Women’s Amateur at Eagle Eye
Macie Elzinga of Bowling Green State University won the 109th Michigan Women’s Amateur Championship at Eagle Eye Golf Club in Bath Township, Michigan, defeating 2019 champion Elayna Bowser of Dearborn 2 and 1 in the final match.
Elzinga’s run through match play included a round of 16 victory over defending champion Shannon Kennedy of Michigan State, followed by a quarterfinal win against Kate Brody of Wisconsin. She then advanced past Elise Fennell of Illinois State University in the semifinals before closing out the championship on the 17th hole against Bowser.
Elzinga, an incoming sophomore at Bowling Green, delivered steady play throughout both stroke-play qualifying and match play. Her win at Eagle Eye secures a spot in the 2025 U.S. Women’s Amateur later this summer.
