Hunter Smith Claims NCAA DII Individual Title for North Georgia

North Georgia junior Hunter Smith made program history by winning the 2025 NCAA Division II Men’s Golf Individual National Championship at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

Smith shot a final-round 69 to finish at 3-under, edging West Florida’s Mateo Pulcini by one stroke in the 54-hole stroke play portion. The win marks the first individual national title in North Georgia men’s golf history.

With rounds of 72-72-69, Smith surged on the final day with a bogey-free front nine and steady play down the stretch to hold off a crowded leaderboard.

His performance also helped North Georgia finish fifth in team stroke play, advancing to the match play bracket to compete for the national championship.
