Hamilton Coleman Wins U.S. Junior Amateur Championship at Trinity Forest

Hamilton Coleman, a University of Georgia commit from Augusta, defeated Oregon State incoming freshman Nguyen Anh Minh 2 and 1 to win the 77th U.S. Junior Amateur Championship on Saturday at Trinity Forest Golf Club in Dallas.

Coleman jumped out to a commanding lead early, going 5 up through 12 holes of the morning round. Nguyen responded by taking three of the next four holes to cut the deficit. Coleman carried a 3-up advantage into the afternoon 18 and extended it to 4 up with 11 holes to play, but Nguyen mounted another comeback to trim the lead to one with two holes remaining.

On the 35th hole, Coleman sealed the match with a birdie to win 2 and 1.

With the victory, Coleman earns an exemption into the 2026 U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills, assuming he remains an amateur.
