GCAA Reveals 2025 Hall of Fame Inductees: Cook, Dover, and Jones
The Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) has named Mike Cook, Dale Dover, and Trey Jones to its 2025 Hall of Fame class. The three coaches will be honored on December 9 at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.
Mike Cook founded the Coastal Georgia men’s golf program in 2010 and turned it into one of the most successful in the NAIA. He led the Mariners to national titles in 2014 and 2015, 11 straight national championship appearances, and 46 tournament wins. His players have earned more than 50 All-America honors, and he is a two-time NAIA National Coach of the Year.
Dale Dover led Darton State College to three consecutive NJCAA Division II National Championships from 2005 to 2007 and 12 straight regional titles. His teams collected 51 victories, and he coached more than 35 All-Americans. Dover also guided Darton’s transition to Division I competition and was inducted into both the NJCAA Golf Coaches Hall of Fame and the Albany State Athletics Hall of Fame.
Trey Jones, now in his 23rd year as Florida State’s head coach and director of golf, has guided the Seminoles to 19 consecutive NCAA Regional appearances and a program-best runner-up finish at the 2024 NCAA Championship. His teams have won more than 40 tournaments, and he has coached All-Americans, including Brooks Koepka, John Pak, and Luke Clanton. Jones is a three-time ACC Coach of the Year.
The GCAA Hall of Fame, established in 1980, honors coaches for their achievements and impact on collegiate golf.
