Elite Amateur Field Set for 2025 U.S. Amateur at The Olympic Club
The 125th U.S. Amateur Championship will be held August 11–17 at The Olympic Club in San Francisco, California. The club is hosting its sixth U.S. Amateur and 12th USGA championship overall.
A total of 312 players will compete, with 47 of the top 50 in the Men’s World Amateur Golf Rankings in the field as of August 6, including the entire top 20:

The field features representatives from more than 20 countries, past U.S. Amateur champions, major amateur titleholders, and leading NCAA players. Players qualified through a combination of exemptions and one of 93 qualifying sites across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Competition will take place on The Olympic Club’s Lake and Ocean Courses. All players will play 18 holes on each course during stroke play on August 11–12. The top 64 will advance to match play on the Lake Course, culminating in a 36-hole championship match on August 17.
The winner will receive the Havemeyer Trophy, a gold medal, exemptions into the 2026 U.S. Open and The Open Championship, and an invitation to the 2026 Masters Tournament. The runner-up will receive a silver medal and exemptions into the 2026 U.S. Open and The Open Championship, provided they remain amateur.
