Early Fireworks at Pinehurst: Three‑Way Tie and Two‑Way Duel Highlight 123rd Women’s and 125th Men’s Amateurs

The 123rd North and South Women’s Amateur and the 125th North and South Men’s Amateur opened with low scores and stacked leaderboards at Pinehurst Resort. The women began stroke play on Pinehurst No. 7, where Pimchompoo Chaisilpruang, Grace Kilcrease, and Ava Merrill each fired two under 70 to share the lead. On Pinehurst No. 2, Tyler Watts and Eric Doyle posted matching 66s to lead the men’s field at four under, with Luke Colton just one back at three under 67.

Both fields will play 36 holes of stroke play. After Tuesday's second round, the top 32 players in each division will advance to match play on Pinehurst No. 2.
