Clanton Captures Fifth Tournament Title as FSU Secures First Win of the Season

Florida State picked up its first tournament victory of the season at the Watersound Invitational, held at Shark’s Tooth Golf Club in Lake Powell, Florida. Junior standout Luke Clanton delivered an outstanding performance, securing his fifth collegiate title with the following numbers through 36 holes.

  • 8 birdies

  • 3 eagles

  • 11-under par

After opening with a 73 on Monday, Clanton caught fire, posting rounds of 66 and 67 to claim the championship.

Up next, Clanton will compete in next week’s Cognizant Classic on a sponsor’s exemption. A strong finish at the PGA Tour event in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, could put him in position to earn his PGA Tour card.
