CGN Player Highlight & Interview: Gray Albright — Florida State University Standout
Gray Albright, a graduate student from Ocala, Florida and a Forest High School alum, has had an impressive collegiate career at Florida State University.
Before arriving at FSU, Albright was a standout junior golfer. He was named Marion County High School Player of the Year three times, earned 3× Boys Golfer of the Year honors from the Ocala Star-Banner, and led Forest High School to two Class 3A State Finals appearances.
After not competing during his freshman year, Albright made a significant impact later in his career. He earned All-ACC honors as a senior, and during his graduate season, was named a Preseason All-American Honorable Mention by both Golfweek and the Golf Channel. He won the prestigious Jones Cup Invitational and entered the 2024–25 season ranked No. 12 in the PGA Tour U Preseason Top 25. He begins his final season ranked 20th in program history with a 72.35 career stroke average and is a two-time individual winner, claiming titles at the 2023 Seminole Intercollegiate and the 2024 Watersound Invitational.
In our recent interview with Gray, he shared insights into his golf journey—starting at age three, competing seriously by age 14, and gaining key exposure through the Florida Junior Tour. He discussed why he chose Florida State, the challenges of not competing his freshman year, and how he used that time to reshape his game and come back stronger.
Gray also reflected on his breakthrough seasons and shared his aspirations for the future—both professionally and personally.
We wish Gray continued success and look forward to following his journey on and off the course.
