2025 NCAA Division III Men’s Golf Championship Heads to Upstate New York

Penfield, NY. The 2025 NCAA Division III Men’s Golf Championship is set for May 20–23 at historic Midvale Country Club in Penfield, New York, with early-round play also held at Cobblestone Creek Country Club in Victor. Hosted by St. John Fisher University and the Rochester, NY, Sports Commission, this year’s championship brings together 43 teams and 10 individual qualifiers in pursuit of national glory.

This marks a return to upstate New York for the Division III title fight, offering a unique blend of challenging course design and Northeast spring conditions.


Championship Format

  • Dates: May 20–23, 2025

  • Courses:

    • Midvale Country Club (Par 72, 6,544 yards – Penfield, NY)

    • Cobblestone Creek Country Club (Par 72, 6,818 yards – Victor, NY)

  • Structure: 72 holes of stroke play over four days

  • Cut: After 36 holes, the field will be trimmed to the top 18 teams and top six individuals not on those teams

  • Outcome: Team and individual champions will be determined after 72 holes or the final completed round


Teams to Watch

  • Methodist University enters the tournament with a record 14 NCAA DIII national titles and is always a threat when the pressure mounts.

  • Carnegie Mellon, the 2023 national champions, return via an at-large berth and bring one of the most experienced lineups in the field.

  • Washington and Lee, Emory, and Illinois Wesleyan all boast strong résumés, with depth and balance across their rosters.

  • Host school St. John Fisher will look to use course familiarity to its advantage as it competes on home turf.
