United States Confirms Teams for 2025 World Amateur Championships

The USGA finalized the United States teams for the 2025 World Amateur Team Championships at Tanah Merah Country Club in Singapore. The women play Oct 1 to 4 for the Espirito Santo Trophy, and the men compete Oct 8 to 11 for the Eisenhower Trophy.

Women

  • Megha Ganne, 21, Holmdel,NJ: senior at Stanford

  • Farah O’Keefe, 20, Austin, TX: will be a junior at Texas this fall

  • Kiara Romero, 19, San Jose, CA: junior at Oregon

Ganne earned an automatic place as the U S Women’s Amateur champion. Romero qualified automatically as the 2025 McCormack Medal winner and top ranked amateur. O’Keefe was selected by the USGA committee. Kendra Graham will captain the team.

Recent notes: Ganne is No. 4 in WAGR and was a low amateur at the 2021 U S Women’s Open, played the 2022 Curtis Cup, and helped Stanford win the 2024 NCAA title. Romero won the 2023 U S Girls’ Junior, is a two-time first-team All-American, was 2025 Big Ten women’s golfer of the year, shot a Sunday 67 at Erin Hills for the lowest final round by an amateur in U S Women’s Open history, and reached the 2025 U S Women’s Amateur quarterfinals in 20 holes. O’Keefe was 2024 Big 12 player of the year and freshman of the year, won the Women’s Western Amateur, reached the Round of 16 in the U S Women’s Amateur, finished runner up at the Women’s Amateur in Scotland this year, and played the 2025 Arnold Palmer Cup. Alternates are Catherine Park, 20, and Anna Davis, 19.

Men

  • Ethan Fang, 20, Plano, TX: rising junior at Oklahoma State

  • Mason Howell, 18, Thomasville, GA: University of Georgia commit

  • Preston Stout, 21, Dallas, TX: Oklahoma State

Howell secured an automatic spot as the U S Amateur champion. Fang and Stout were committee picks. USGA past president Stu Francis will captain the team.

Recent notes: Howell won the U S Amateur final 7 and 6, qualified for the 2025 U S Open at Oakmont with a pair of 63s, and was medalist at the 2025 U S Junior Amateur. Fang won the Amateur Championship at Royal St George’s, reached the 2024 U S Amateur quarterfinals, and helped Oklahoma State win the 2025 NCAA title with a 2 and 1 match play record that included a 1-up clincher in the final. Stout won the 2025 Northeast Amateur by eight, went 2 and 1 in NCAA match play, and captured the 2024 and 2025 Big 12 individual titles. Fang, Howell, and Stout will also play the Walker Cup at Cypress Point next weekend. Alternates are Tommy Morrison, 21, and Miles Russell, 16.

Both USA teams will be coached by Chris Zambri, who also leads the U S National Development Program.

Event format

The championships are biennial and conducted by the International Golf Federation. Each team plays 72 holes of stroke play. Each day the two lowest scores of the three players count toward the team total. The Singapore Golf Association will host. In 2023 the Republic of Korea won the Espirito Santo Trophy and the United States won the Eisenhower Trophy.
