Tyler Watts Becomes Youngest Champion in Sunnehanna Amateur History

Tyler Watts, a University of Tennessee commit representing the United States, made history on Saturday by becoming the youngest winner in the 84-year history of the Sunnehanna Amateur. The 17-year-old closed with a final round 64 to finish at 19 under par with a total of 261, winning by four shots at Sunnehanna Country Club.

Watts displayed maturity beyond his years, capping off a bogey-free final round with confident ball striking and composed course management. His rounds of 66, 67, 64, and 64 showed consistency on a demanding championship layout. The Tennessee native made history as Tyler connected on five consecutive birdies on the front nine.

With this victory, Watts adds a prestigious amateur title to his resume before beginning his collegiate career in Knoxville.
