Top Collegiate Golfers Named to WGCA Division I Year-End Watch Lists
As the 2025 NCAA Division I Women’s Golf Championship begins in Carlsbad, the Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) has released its final watch lists for two of the sport’s most prestigious honors: the PING WGCA Player of the Year and the WGCA Freshman of the Year presented by StrackaLine.
These standout athletes have led the way in collegiate golf this season, combining exceptional scoring averages with elite finishes at marquee events across the country.
Division I PING WGCA Player of the Year Finalists
Kiara Romero – Sophomore, Oregon
Romero holds a 68.3 adjusted scoring average and has delivered six top-three finishes in 2025. Her victories at the NCAA Gold Canyon Regional and the Big Ten Championship helped earn her Big Ten Player of the Year honors.
Mirabel Ting – Junior, Florida State
Ting enters championship week with a 67.1 adjusted scoring average—the lowest among the finalists. She’s won five times and finished in the top three on seven occasions, including a tie for second at the NCAA Lexington Regional. She was named ACC Golfer of the Year.
Lottie Woad – Junior, Florida State
Woad has finished in the top three at every event she’s played in this season, tallying two wins and a runner-up finish at the NCAA Lexington Regional. Her adjusted scoring average sits at 68.3.
Division I Freshman of the Year Watch List Presented by StrackaLine
Eila Galitsky – South Carolina
Galitsky has posted three top-five finishes this season, including a co-medalist finish at the Moon Golf Invitational. Her adjusted scoring average is 69.6. She was named SEC Co-Freshman of the Year.
Jasmine Koo – USC
Koo has won four individual titles and placed in the top 10 seven times, maintaining a 69.9 scoring average. She earned Big Ten Freshman of the Year honors.
Meja Örtengren – Stanford
Örtengren holds a 68.7 adjusted scoring average with six top-five finishes, including a third-place showing at the NCAA Norman Regional. She was recognized as ACC Freshman of the Year.
Andrea Revuelta – Stanford
Revuelta has emerged as a postseason force, claiming victories at both the ACC Championship and the NCAA Norman Regional. She has three top-three finishes and a 69.1 scoring average.
Winners to Be Named After NCAA Championship
The WGCA will announce the recipients of both honors following the conclusion of the NCAA Division I Women’s Golf Championship, scheduled for May 16–21 at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California.
