National Signing Day Opens for NCAA Division I and II Golf

The early signing period for NCAA Division I and II sports officially opened on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, allowing high school golfers to formally commit to their college programs. The signing window will remain open through August 1, 2026.

While the National Letter of Intent program has been phased out for many sports, student-athletes now confirm their commitments by signing an athletic aid agreement. This agreement secures their scholarship terms and marks the beginning of their collegiate careers.

For college golf, the signing period is a major milestone that shapes recruiting and roster planning. Programs can now finalize their incoming classes, while junior golfers who have spent years competing in elite events can officially take the next step in their athletic journeys. Coaches benefit from added clarity in scholarship distribution, and players gain security in knowing their collegiate futures are set.

The change from the NLI to the athletic aid agreement also provides flexibility for both sides. Golf programs often recruit internationally and manage smaller scholarship allocations, so this adjustment allows for more straightforward communication and earlier commitment timelines.

As signing announcements roll in across the country, today marks the beginning of a new chapter for many junior golfers joining the college ranks, strengthening the bridge between amateur and collegiate golf.
