Michael La Sasso, a junior at the University of Mississippi and graduate of Saint David’s School, has quickly established himself as one of the top players in NCAA Division I men’s golf. Currently ranked No. 8 in the nation by Clippd, La Sasso’s rise has been fueled by a combination of consistent performances and a deep passion for the game.
Early Success & High School Achievements
Before his college career, La Sasso was a standout junior golfer. He was ranked No. 2 in North Carolina’s Class of 2022 and No. 38 nationally by the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA). At St. David’s, he led his team to two NCISAA 3A state titles and twice earned individual medalist honors at the state championship, along with All-State recognition in 2019 and 2021.
College Career: From NC State to Ole Miss
La Sasso began his collegiate career at NC State, where he competed in nine tournaments during the 2022–23 season and was the Wolfpack’s top performer in three of them.
Seeking new opportunities, La Sasso transferred to Ole Miss ahead of his sophomore season—and his game took off. Since joining the Rebels, he’s earned:

In our recent CGN interview, La Sasso shared insights into his journey, from growing up in a baseball-loving family to finding his calling in golf. He began playing seriously in seventh grade and credited his parents and swing coach, Chase Duncan, as key influences.
