Meja Örtengren: A Standout Freshman Shaping the Future of Women's Golf
Örtengren, a native of Linköping, Sweden, and a graduate of Birgittaskolan, has quickly established herself as a rising star in women's college golf. Currently ranked No. 11 in NCAA Division I by Clippd, she was named a preseason Second-Team All-American by Golf Channel before joining Stanford.
Ranked No. 22 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings, Ortengren has an impressive amateur resume, including appearances in the PING Junior Solheim Cup and Junior Ryder Cup. She is a two-time Rolex Tournament of Champions winner (2021, 2022), the 2023 Internationaux de France U21 Champion, and an invitee to the 2024 Augusta National Women’s Amateur.
At Stanford, she has delivered standout performances, going 3-0 in match play at the NB3 Collegiate and securing three top-10 finishes. With an exceptional scoring average of 70, she has recorded par or better in eight of her nine rounds.
