Koo Shines as Golf's Rising Star: Dominating Junior and Amateur Circuits

Koo, a native of Cerritos, Calif., and a graduate of Cerritos High School, has established herself as one of the most exceptional talents in junior and amateur golf. She was ranked as the No. 1 Girls Junior by the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) and reached as high as No. 5 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings.
A two-time Rolex All-American First Team member, Koo currently holds the No. 1 spot in the AJGA standings for the 2024 season. Her stellar performances include four tournament victories, most notably the 2023 Women’s Western Amateur Championship. She also captured the Medalist honor at the Toyota Junior World Cup, where she led Team USA to victory over eight other nations.
Koo’s consistency is reflected in her 13 top-ten finishes, including five top-ten results in just six events during the 2024 calendar year. At the U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship, she tied for second in stroke play before finishing third overall. In an incredible run to the Final Four, she did not drop a single hole in her first three match-play rounds, going an extraordinary 16-under par during that stretch.
In professional events, Koo shined as the low amateur at the LPGA Chevron Championship, finishing 13th on the leaderboard. She also delivered a standout performance at the Augusta National Women’s Amateur, where she placed fourth.
Adding to her accolades, Koo represented Team USA at the 2024 Curtis Cup, further solidifying her reputation as a rising star in the world of golf.
