Kiara Romero Earns Top Ten Finish and LEAP Points at The Standaard Portland Classic

Oregon sophomore Kiara Romero made the most of her sponsor’s invitation at the 2025 Portland Classic, tying for seventh in her first LPGA Tour appearance.

Playing at Columbia Edgewater Country Club, Romero closed with a final-round 64 to reach 16 under par. The performance secured her a top ten finish and two points in the LPGA Elite Amateur Pathway standings, which track the top amateurs competing in professional events.

Romero became the only amateur in the field to finish inside the top ten. The two LEAP points move her closer to the 20-point mark required for LPGA Tour membership through the program.

Her strong finish on one of the LPGA’s longest running stages provided a significant milestone as she continues her career with the University of Oregon.
