David Ford Wins Augusta Haskins Award Invitational

David Ford Sets UNC Record with Fourth Win of the Season

David Ford just keeps delivering.

The North Carolina senior picked up his fourth individual win of the season on Sunday, taking home the title at the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational. Not only did he shoot 12-under across three rounds at Forest Hills Golf Club, but he closed the door in style — birdieing the first playoff hole to lock it up over Illinois freshman Max Herendeen.

It’s Ford’s sixth career victory, tying him for second-most all-time at UNC. The four wins this season are a new program record.

His play also earned him another PGA TOUR start, this time at the 2025 3M Open. That exemption joins the 2026 Valspar Championship invite he already had in his pocket. Safe to say the senior is turning heads at the next level — and not just with wins. Ford currently sits No. 1 in both the NCAA Scoreboard/Clippd rankings and the PGA TOUR University standings.

The Tar Heels finished second in the team standings behind a strong weekend from Ford, who continues to look like one of the most complete players in the college game.
