CGN Player Highlight & Interview: Isabella McCauley: Standout Star at Minnesota

Background & High School Career

Isabella McCauley, a junior at the University of Minnesota from Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota, has emerged as one of the top women’s Division I golfers. Before college, she helped her high school team to a third-place finish at the 2019 state championship. She was a six-time Metro East All-Conference honoree, five-time All-State selection, and was named Ms. Minnesota Golf in 2022. She also made history as the first woman to win the Minnesota Golf Champions tournament and was the youngest Minnesotan to compete in the U.S. Women’s Open.

College Career at Minnesota

McCauley made an immediate impact as a freshman, competing in all 10 events. She finished tied for second at the Big Ten Championship and fired a career-low 63 at the Evie Odom Invitational.

As a sophomore, she set the Gophers’ single-season scoring record, earned her first collegiate win at the Boilermaker Classic, and was crowned a Big Ten Tri-Champion.

Now in her junior year, McCauley has continued her stellar play with a win at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate. She is currently competing in the Augusta National Women’s Amateur and was recently named to the final ANNIKA Award Watch List.

Off the Course

In our recent interview, McCauley shared insights into her journey — from early high school success to life at Minnesota — including her preparation for tournaments and the strong relationships she’s built with teammates and coaches.
