CGN Feature: Arkansas’ Maria José Marin Wins 2025 NCAA DI Women’s Golf Individual Championship

Arkansas sophomore Maria José Marín captured the 2025 NCAA Division I Women’s Golf individual championship at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa, delivering a steady final-round 3-under 69 to secure a two-shot victory at 12-under-par 276.

Marín became the third Razorback to win the NCAA individual title, joining Stacy Lewis (2007) and Maria Fassi (2019). Her standout third-round 65 — the lowest of the tournament — vaulted her into the lead, and she never relinquished it.

Florida State’s Mirabel Ting finished runner-up at 10-under, while Stanford’s Kelly Xu took third at 8-under.

The victory marked Marín’s third win of the season and earned her an exemption into the 2025 U.S. Women’s Open. She also became the first South American golfer to win the NCAA individual title.

While Marín’s performance qualified Arkansas for the match play portion of the team championship, the Razorbacks fell to No. 3 seed Northwestern in the quarterfinals, ending their run.
