Anna Ritter Wins Ohio State Women’s Amateur, Qualifies for 2025 U.S. Women’s Amateur
Anna Ritter, an incoming senior at Illinois, captured the 102nd Women’s Ohio State Amateur Championship with a commanding 6 and 5 win over Sabrina Coffman in Thursday’s final at Weymouth Country Club in Medina, Ohio.
Ritter entered match play as the top seed after firing a 69 in stroke play qualifying. She never trailed in the championship match and closed it out on the 13th hole, completing an unbeaten run through the bracket without playing beyond the 15th hole in any round.
Earlier in the week, Ritter defeated Emma Phaff 3 and 2 in the quarterfinals and Grace Strickland 6 and 4 in the semifinals. Her performance earned her an exemption into the 2025 U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship.
A native of New Albany, Ohio, Ritter is one of the Big Ten’s top returners heading into her final collegiate season.
