Auburn has moved into the No. 1 position in the latest Bushnell Golfweek Division I Coaches Poll following its victory at the Inverness Intercollegiate.
The defending national champion received eight first place votes and 614 points in the September 25 rankings, finishing just two points ahead of Oklahoma State for the top spot.
Oklahoma State received a poll leading 12 first place votes and 612 points to rank second. Arizona State, Illinois and Texas Tech complete the top five.

Auburn Moves to No. 1
Auburn climbed from No. 2 in the preseason poll after opening its season with a victory at the Inverness Intercollegiate on September 15.
The Tigers finished the tournament at 11 over, defeating host Toledo and East Tennessee State by one stroke.
The victory moved Auburn ahead of Oklahoma State in a close vote for the top ranking.
Oklahoma State Sits Two Points Behind
Oklahoma State moved from No. 3 to No. 2 and received more first place votes than any other program with 12.
The Cowboys finished with 612 points compared with Auburn’s 614.
Arizona State remained near the top of the rankings, moving from fourth to third with four first place votes and 546 points.
Illinois and Georgia Tech Make Significant Moves
Illinois climbed eight positions from No. 12 to No. 4 with 494 points.
Texas Tech remained at No. 5, while previous No. 1 Florida dropped to sixth. Tennessee stayed seventh and Texas moved seven positions from No. 15 to No. 8.
Georgia Tech recorded the largest move inside the Top 10, climbing from No. 25 to No. 9. Vanderbilt completes the Top 10 at No. 10.

New Programs Enter Top 25
Four programs entered the Top 25 after sitting outside the preseason rankings.
New Mexico moved into the poll at No. 15 and received one first place vote. Notre Dame enters at No. 16, while East Tennessee State debuts at No. 19 and Ohio State joins at No. 25.
Florida State, Charlotte, Ole Miss and Arizona dropped out of the Top 25.
The next Bushnell Golfweek Division I Coaches Poll is scheduled to be released on October 16.
