Tennessee captured the Visit Knoxville Collegiate team title Tuesday at Fox Den Country Club in Knoxville, Tennessee, while Chattanooga’s Evan Rogers earned individual medalist honors.
The Volunteers closed with a 14 under final round to finish at 15 under for the tournament. Tennessee finished four strokes ahead of Memphis, while Chattanooga and North Carolina tied for third at 9 under.
Rogers secured the individual championship at 10 under, carding rounds of 3 under, 3 under and 4 under. Tennessee’s Rudy Sautron made a final round push with a 7 under round to finish one stroke behind Rogers at 9 under.
North Carolina’s Carson Bertagnole placed third at 8 under. Mississippi State’s Yago Horno Mateo, Vanderbilt’s Will Hartman and Memphis’ Yixiang Wang shared fourth at 7 under.

Tennessee’s closing round proved decisive after the Volunteers opened with rounds of 3 under and 2 over. Chattanooga entered the final round with the lead before closing at 1 under.

Rogers’ victory came after three consecutive rounds under par, while Sautron climbed 16 spots during the final round with his 7 under performance.
The Visit Knoxville Collegiate was contested August 31 through September 1 at Fox Den Country Club in Knoxville and hosted by Tennessee.
