Carnegie Mellon holds the opening round lead at the NCAA Division III Women’s National Championship after posting a 3 over team score Tuesday at Desert Willow Golf Resort in Palm Desert, California.
Washington and Lee sits one shot back at 4 over, while top ranked Emory stands third at 5 over. New York is fourth at 8 over, followed by Claremont Mudd Scripps at 9 over. Middlebury holds sixth at 10 over, while Amherst and Randolph Macon are tied for seventh at 12 over. Pomona Pitzer sits ninth at 15 over, with Washington University in St. Louis and Redlands tied for 10th at 16 over.
Washington and Lee golfer Toral Bhatt leads the individual standings at 3 under after the opening round. Piedmont golfer Erin Donovan, Carnegie Mellon’s Alyssa Lim, and Trinity individual Jessica Mason are tied for second at 2 under.
New York golfer Inha Jun, Carnegie Mellon’s Emma Wong, Southern Virginia individual Sydney Richards, Sewanee golfer Jane Stilz, Emory’s Carys Code, and Claremont Mudd Scripps golfer Esther Lee are tied for fifth at 1 under entering the second round.
