Vanderbilt extended its lead through two rounds of the NCAA Athens Regional after posting a 15 under team score Tuesday at University of Georgia Golf Course in Athens, Georgia. The Commodores moved to 22 under overall entering the final round.
Louisville remained in second at 19 under, while top ranked Auburn sits third at 14 under. Georgia holds fourth at 12 under, with BYU rounding out the top five at 11 under. Charleston moved into sixth at 10 under, followed by Illinois at 9 under. Northwestern climbed to eighth at 5 under, while Harvard stands ninth at 3 under. Kansas and Southern Miss are tied for 10th at even par.
Vanderbilt golfer Will Hartman moved into the individual lead at 12 under after a second round 8 under 64. Louisiana individual Malan Potgieter sits one shot back at 11 under, while Auburn’s Josiah Gilbert is third at 9 under.
Vanderbilt’s Jon Ed Steed and Louisville’s Cooper Claycomb are tied for fourth at 8 under. Charleston golfer Nevill Ruiter, Southern Miss golfer Jake Moffitt, and Harvard’s Barry Zhang share sixth at 6 under. BYU’s Parker Bunn and Northwestern’s Ethan Tseng are tied for ninth at 5 under entering the final round.
